Krav Maga Techniques
Strikes
| Technique | Description | Borrowed From |
|---|
| Palm strike | Open-palm strike to the chin or nose. Safer for the striker’s hand than a punch. | Boxing adaptation |
| Straight punch | Standard boxing-style punch to the face or body | Boxing |
| Hammer fist | Downward strike with the bottom of the fist — to the nose, back of head, or collarbone | General |
| Elbow strikes (all angles) | Forward, upward, sideways, downward, backward — elbows are devastating at close range | Muay Thai / general |
| Knee strikes | Drive the knee into the groin, stomach, or face (when controlling the head) | Muay Thai |
| Front kick to the groin | The most basic Krav Maga defense — kick to the groin and run | General |
Defenses
| Scenario | Defense |
|---|
| Choke from the front | Pluck the hands, simultaneous knee to the groin, escape |
| Choke from behind | Turn into the attacker, strike, escape |
| Bear hug (arms pinned) | Drop weight, headbutt backward, stomp on foot, elbow, escape |
| Headlock | Turn into the attacker, strike groin, escape |
| Knife threat | Redirect the weapon hand, control the wrist, counterattack, disarm, escape |
| Gun threat (front) | Redirect the barrel off your body, control the weapon, counterattack, disarm |
Every defense ends the same way: escape. Krav Maga doesn't teach you to stay and fight — it teaches you to create enough space to get away safely.
