Taekwondo Competition Rules

WT (World Taekwondo) sparring: 3 rounds of 2 minutes. Electronic scoring: kicks to the trunk (hogu) score 2 points, kicks to the head score 3 points, spinning kicks add 1 bonus point. Punches to the trunk score 1 point. Head punches are not allowed. Excessive contact, falling, and grabbing are penalized.

Poomsae competition: Judged on accuracy, power, balance, speed, and rhythm. Competitors perform required forms and are scored by a panel.
